September is upon us and our thoughts turn to spring with warmer weather, the first lambs of the season and the beautiful cheery yellow of daffodils.
The coming month is packed full of activities for the residents of Highfield, from the very important Annual General Meetings to functions, events and presentations from our political candidates.
It was wonderful to hear the inspirational journey of Mike and Jackie Cosgrove’s epic fundraising adventure across the Australian desert – The Nullabor, 1200 kilometres of unforgiving territory. Highfield has raised a whopping $1670! A huge congratulations and thank you to our Highfield directors, staff and residents for supporting Mike and Jackie on their quest for mental health and Gumboot Friday! And, of course, thank you to Mike and Jackie for sharing their incredible adventure with us all here at Highfield.
Happy Fathers Day to all of our amazing dads, grandads and significant men in our lives. The social committee have organised a “celebration of Dad’s Smoko”, morning tea, which I know everyone will enjoy.
Don’t forget to turn your clocks forward with daylight saving commencing on Sunday 24 September.
A very warm welcome to spring and hope you all enjoy the month of September
