Te Awamutu’s spectacular Rose Gardens have earned the town the title of “Rosetown” of New Zealand. Situated on Gorst Avenue, the gardens attract thousands of visitors every year with over 2,500 rose bushes across more than 50 varieties.
The best time to visit while the flowers are in bloom is from November to May. The gardens are a short drive from Highfield Country Estate and a favourite destination for our residents.
Te Awamutu is ideally located just 30 minutes south of Hamilton, the Waikato’s largest city. Auckland is approximately 2 hours north via the Waikato Expressway, making it easy for family visits.
The town is well-served with excellent healthcare facilities, medical centres, pharmacies, and specialist providers. Hamilton’s Waikato Hospital — one of New Zealand’s largest — is just a short drive away.
